In the United States, every 40 seconds someone is having a stroke. That someone could be a friend, a family member or even you. Thankfully, many of the factors that put people at risk for stroke are actually in their own control. Although making lifestyle changes can be hard at first, the long term results are well worth the work. From changing the way people eat, to exercising, to quitting smoking there are many areas that can easily be changed to reduce the risk of stroke.

Stroke is a leading cause of death in the US and therefore, knowing the risks, the signs and the symptoms has become increasingly important. Getting treatment as soon as possible is crucial to limiting the damage that the stroke may cause and therefore having the public aware of the signs and symptoms is a top priority.
